Our first talk outlined the mission of PLS to bring plants out of the background and into the foreground of our lives; celebrating the ways plants connect us to each other, our cultures and families, land, and nature.While we don’t use the term “plant blindness” (McDonough MacKenzie et al. 2019), we recognize that even ecologists can let the vegetation “blend into the background” while we work and play outdoors.
